This year, the Kapaa High Foundation was able to present a grant of $3500 to the Project Grad  committee.   A large part of this years grant to Project Grad was made possible by earmarked donations from the Class of 1966 and 1969.

.Project Grad is an overnight alcohol and drug free graduation party for Seniors held immediately after the graduation ceremony.      According to event coordinators Leona McDermott and Kaleo Keliipuleole, the total cost of the event  is about $20,000, mainly to cover cost of the venue, food entertainment, and transportation .  However, wiith all of the donations and support from the Foundation, alumni, and community, this year the committee was able to reduce the registration fee to $50 per student.  With the lower fee, 98% of the seniors have signed up as of this date.
