President Art Fujita awards check and Phoenix Suns autographed basketball to Coach Baclayon

On May 18,2011 The Kapaa High School Foundation presented a check of $1,600 to the Kapaa High School baseball team coached by Gordon Muramaru.  The money will be used to purchase baseball bats that must comply with new minimum standards, and other much needed equipment.  Coach Muramaru was also presented with a koa baseball bat  for his dedication to the baseball program.

The Foundation also gave a check of $500 to the Kapaa High School basketball team coached by Philip Baclayon to purchase basketballs and practice equipment.  Coach Baclayon was also given a basketball signed by the Phoenix Suns basketball team.

With severe cuts in the  DOE budget for athletic programs, the Kapaa High School coaches are largely left on their own to raise funds for their teams.  Thanks to the many donors to the Kapaa High Scool Foundation, we have been able to provide some relief to programs that benefit our student athletes.
