PROGRAMS SUPPORTED BY THE KAPA’A HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION

The Foundation’s Board of Directors meets on a monthly basis to review current school programs and to determine the best use of Foundation funds. In recent years, the programs supported by the Foundation have included:

STUDENT GRANTS

Senior student grants are awarded to graduating seniors who are able to demonstrate a high level of meaningful participation in volunteer and community service activities. The criteria is based on the value or quality of the volunteer and community service activities, and not solely on the number of activities. A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher is required. Grant recipients must have established acceptance in an accredited or licensed business school, technical school, community college or university.

OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR AWARD

This award recognizes staff and faculty members who have exceeded established standards in guiding and teaching the students of Kapa’a High School. This elite group of educators have demonstrated a commitment to new ideas and concepts, creativity and innovation in their roles to shape and prepare our youth for the challenges of tomorrow. Staff and faculty members are nominated by students through an essay contest in which students also receive a monetary award for their persuasive writing skills.
