The Kapaa High Boys Soccer team captured the State Division II Championship title by defeating Mid Pac 2-1 at the Waipio Soccer Stadium on February 9, 2013. After winning the KIF title they beat a tough Hawaii Prep Academy team 4-3. They then beat Kalaheo 5-2 to advance to the championship game. This was the teams third consecutive appearance in the State Championship game and the team with 11 seniors was determined not to let this one get away.Head Coach Kevin Cram and some of the boys came to the last Foundation board meeting to share their tournament experiences. ” We are the best equipped team on the island.” he said, thanking the Foundation for the financial and moral support.( The Foundation helped in purchasing balls and uniforms earlier in the season) He also mentioned that the boys are also doing well academically, with a number of them being honor students with gpas of 3.4 or higher. Foundation Board member Bob Kubota commended the team for showing leadership on and off the field.
By winning the State Division II title, Coach Kevin Cram was named the Outstanding Coach of the Year. Joshua Cram was named Outstanding Player of the Year. Brothers Michael and Daniel Alonzo, Tanner Henry, and TJ West were also named to the State All Star team.
